Rehab Environment – Rehab Clinics
The environment of programs goes from pretty gritty, to a cold very institutional medical setting, to the five star resort. There are many rehab clinics to choose from and your choices of which rehab environment to attend also depends on you.
The philosophy of the program is the main reason for choosing one program over another. However of concern as well is what the facility and the staff are like. You are going or sending someone, often sight unseen. The facility should be something that the person is going to feel safe and comfortable with. Somewhere he or she is more likely to stay.
The staff relationship with the client is of utmost importance. It needs to be professional, always caring for the client and his/her success. A lot of successful programs have former addicts on their staff and they do very well as they know what the addict is going through, can see through attempts to deceive or cheat or leave too soon and have the compassion to deal with situations in the appropriate manner. The person in rehab should always be treated with dignity and helped to overcome the many barriers that present themselves during the process of healing.
